Some decisions are hard

                            ~ this one is easy...

It can feel intimidating to meet with a therapist for the first time.

I make it easy.

My style is relaxed and
your comfort is my priority.

Plus, therapy works.

Why make things harder than they have to be?

I offer online scheduling using HourTown

 Personalized care
By keeping my case load small I have more flexibility to meet your scheduling needs.  I am also able to spend more time thinking about and researching your particular case outside of our sessions.

Flexibility in time and length of sessions
As opposed to the standard 45-50 minute therapy “hour” I reserve a full 60 minutes so that we have the flexibility to accomplish more in one visit.  I offer both brief (1-8 sessions) and long term therapy (20+ sessions) and can work with your timetable and needs.

Whole person approach
I make sure to identify and work within the values that are important to you.  My approach is to mobilize your strengths and provide strategies that address the “whole” you.

Tailored treatment plans
To ensure that your expectations are being met, together we will customize a formal treatment plan detailing your hopes for therapy, objective signs that we have reached those goals, and a timetable.  This plan will also include home assignments and links to additional strategies and resources for your particular case.

Better understand the problem.
Exploring how your thoughts, feelings and relationships impact your mood and behaviors helps you move away from knee-jerk responses that can derail your self esteem and make you feel out of control.

Create a plan and find solutions that work.
When you’re in rough terrain without a map it’s easy to feel lost.  You don’t have to continue down a path that is not working, there are other options, and together we’ll find, or create, a map that helps you get where you want to be.

Mobilize your strengths.
You are more than a sum of your problems.  I make sure to get to know the “whole” you, including your strengths, resources, and values.

The "Local Hardware Store" Analogy

Big box stores have their place.  Sometimes, however, you need a distinctive item or more personalized attention (like when you’re in the middle of a home repair crisis!)

At those times you’re drawn to the local neighborhood store where the shop owner takes the time to get to know you and recommend just the right thing.

My hope is to create such an experience for my clients:  A friendly, comfortable place where solutions are customized by someone who takes the time to get to know you and recommend just the right thing.
