About My Treatment Approach
Therapy begins with a question.... yours.
People come to therapy for a myriad of reasons, but everyone starts with a question: "How can I live a more joyful life?" "Should I quit my job?" "How do you stop a panic attack." "Why am I being unfairly targeted?" "I played by the rules, but it's falling apart - where is God?" "How do I move past this grief?" "Should I have more kids?" "Why can't I let this go?" "How can I get my spouse to actually understand?" "How do I stop beating myself up?" "Isn't parenting supposed to be more fun then this?" "Am I depressed or am I overreacting?" "I just have no energy - what's wrong with me?"

Therapy provides research driven solutions tailored specifically to you.
Have you ever felt the urge to "Google" your problem in hopes that the right answer would pop up? There's a lot of information out there, but what's really valid? More importantly, what is the right answer for you ~ in this moment ~ and under these circumstances? My education as a doctoral level psychologist, my ongoing training in current best practices in the mental health field, and over 15 years experience working with (at this point, quite literally) 100's of clients, gives me the expertise to give you research driven advice tailored specifically for your situation.
{For those who want the technical details: I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Control Mastery Theory, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Gottman couples research, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.}

Therapy is a relationship.
Therapy offers much more then a self help book or an article on the internet ever could. In the context of an authentic and healing relationship you can find the courage to see and confront yourself, empowering changes in how you experience yourself, your relationships, and your story. I am honored to be part of this journey with you.
Therapy is an art.
Along with the goal-centered and science-driven side of therapy, there's also a creative dimension to this work that calls for playfulness, humor, and lots of room for mistakes. That means it's messy sometimes. But when we approach our sessions with a willingness to lean into the unknown ~ the best insights are given space to surface.
